This policy explains what Magramane ("the app", "we", "us") collects, how it is used, and your choices. Magramane is developed by Youcef Khetib. If anything here is unclear, contact us at [email protected].

Our approach

Magramane is local-first and opt-in. The health and wellness information you enter is stored on your device, and you can use most of the app without creating an account. Some features — cloud backup, the community leaderboard, and AI photo estimation — send data off your device, but only when you choose to use them. Each is described below.

Information you enter

You may record the following in the app. Unless you enable an account (see “Optional account and cloud backup”), it is stored only on your device:

• Profile details you choose to provide: name, age, date of birth, sex, height, weight, goals, and language, unit and appearance preferences.
• Food and nutrition logs, water intake, and custom foods.
• Activities and workouts, steps, and daily activity.
• Weight and body measurements (including waist, neck and hip) over time.
• Body-fat estimates, including any from the photo feature.
• Vitals you choose to log: blood glucose, blood pressure, and blood ketones (used to show informational status indicators and trends only — the app is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, or provide medical advice).
• Sleep sessions and snore-detection results, including short audio clips you record.
• Hikes and tracked activities, including GPS route, distance and elevation.
• Menstrual cycle information, if you choose to use that feature.

Health data from Health Connect

Magramane can integrate with Android Health Connect to read health and fitness data that you explicitly approve. Our use of Health Connect data complies with the Google Play Health Connect policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Data we may read (only the types you approve): steps, active and total calories, distance, heart rate, blood glucose, blood pressure, exercise/workout sessions, weight, body fat, nutrition, hydration, and sleep sessions.

How this data is used: solely to display it within the app and combine it with your other logs to power features you use — such as your dashboard, calorie and goal calculations, activity and sleep history, and vitals trends. It is used only to provide these user-facing features to you.

How this data is stored: Health Connect data is stored locally on your device. If — and only if — you choose to create an account, a copy is included in your encrypted cloud backup (with Supabase) so you can restore it on another device. If you never sign in, Health Connect data never leaves your device.

Sharing and limits (Limited Use): we do not sell Health Connect data; we do not use it for advertising or marketing; we do not share or transfer it to third parties except as strictly necessary to provide the app's features to you (namely our cloud-backup provider, if you enable an account), to comply with law, or as part of a service you explicitly request. We do not use Health Connect data to train generalized/AI models. No humans read your Health Connect data except where you explicitly request support and provide it, or where required by law.

Your control and deletion: you grant and revoke access to each Health Connect data type in the Health Connect app or your Android settings at any time. Revoking access stops further reading immediately. Data already imported into Magramane can be deleted by clearing the app's data, deleting the relevant entries, or uninstalling; if you have an account, deleting your account removes the cloud copy (see Delete account).

Health data and medical disclaimer

Magramane is a general wellness and fitness app for personal tracking. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition. Health metrics you log or import (including blood glucose, blood pressure, ketones, heart rate, and weight) and any indicators, estimates, forecasts, or ketosis/index calculations the app shows are for your general information only, are not medical advice, and must not be used to make medical decisions. The app does not issue medical alarms. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional about your health, and do not rely on the app in an emergency.

Device permissions

• Location (including background) — to record your GPS route, distance, pace and elevation during an outdoor activity or hike that you start, and to provide local weather and air-quality guidance. Tracking runs in a foreground service and may continue collecting location even when the app is closed or not in use so recording stays accurate while your screen is off. Location is collected only during an activity you start and stop yourself; you are shown a disclosure and asked to consent before this begins.
• Camera — to take a photo of a meal for food logging, a photo for body-composition estimation, or a profile/leaderboard picture.
• Microphone — to detect snoring during a sleep session.
• Bluetooth — to connect optional heart-rate or fitness devices.
• Physical activity — to count steps.
• Notifications — to show tracking status and reminders.

Photos and audio

Meal photos and snore-detection audio are processed on your device and stored locally. Snore audio clips are kept for about a month and can be deleted by you at any time. We do not upload your meal photos or your snore recordings to our servers. The exceptions are described in the next two sections: photos you send for AI estimation, and photos you choose to make your public leaderboard or team image.

AI photo estimation (food and body composition)

If you use a photo feature to estimate a meal or your body composition, the image is sent to our third-party AI provider (Google Gemini) to generate the estimate. The image is used only to produce that result and is not used by us for any other purpose. You can review and edit food results before saving. These features require you to be signed in.

Optional account and cloud backup

If you choose to create an account, we store your email address and a copy of your app data with our cloud provider (Supabase) so you can back it up and restore it on another device. This is optional; if you never sign in, none of this data leaves your device. You can delete your account and all cloud data at any time — see Delete account.

Community leaderboard and teams (optional)

The leaderboard is off by default. If you turn it on, the following becomes visible to other signed-in users of the app: the nickname you choose, your weekly activity totals (such as calories burned, distance and number of activities), the team you belong to, and — if you add one — your profile photo. You can turn the leaderboard off at any time, which hides your entry, and you can change or remove your nickname and photo.

To help keep the leaderboard safe, images uploaded as profile or team photos are automatically screened for inappropriate content (using Google Cloud Vision) before they are shown, and offensive names are filtered. A moderator may remove photos, names, or teams, or exclude an account, that breach these standards.

Maps

When you view or download maps, tile requests are made to our map hosting and to map providers (OpenStreetMap-based tiles, terrain and satellite imagery). These requests include the map area being viewed. They do not include your identity or your health data.

Barcode lookup

If you scan a product barcode, the barcode number is sent to Open Food Facts to retrieve product information. No personal data is attached to this request.

Weight forecast

The weight-forecast feature runs entirely on your device, using your own logged weigh-ins (and, if you choose the precise mode, your food and activity logs). It produces an estimate for informational purposes and is not medical advice.

Third-party services we use

• Supabase — account authentication, cloud backup and leaderboard storage (only if you sign in / opt in).
• Google Gemini — AI photo estimation for food and body composition.
• Google Cloud Vision — automated screening of uploaded leaderboard/team photos.
• Open Food Facts — product lookup from barcodes.
• Map providers — OpenStreetMap-based tiles, terrain and satellite imagery.
• Health Connect — on-device access to health data you approve.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your personal data.
• We do not show third-party advertising.
• We do not use your health data for advertising.

Data retention

Local data remains on your device until you delete it in the app or uninstall. Snore audio clips are automatically removed after about a month. If you have an account, your cloud backup is kept until you change it or delete your account; account-deletion requests are completed within 30 days.

Children

Magramane is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect data from them. The community leaderboard is intended for users who meet this age requirement.

Your choices and rights

• Use the app without an account and without the leaderboard.
• Turn the leaderboard on or off, and change or remove your nickname and photo, at any time.
• Revoke Health Connect or any device permission at any time in your system settings.
• Delete your local data by clearing it in the app or uninstalling.
• Request deletion of your account and all cloud data — see Delete account.
• Depending on where you live (for example, under the EU/EEA GDPR), you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete your personal data. To exercise these, contact [email protected].

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected here with a new date.
